Winter NAMM, 2002: New products from Epiphone
Epiphone brings Gibson's successful all-black Goth models into a more
affordable price range and reintroduces the Jimmy Page-style doubleneck
SG, the Pee Wee guitar/amp sets and an entire Bluegrass Collection.
Goths: The Goth series includes a Les Paul Studio, SG-style G-400,
Flying V and Explorer, all with satin-black finish, a "XII"
inlay on the 12th fret, a Celtic cross on the peghead and a pair of powerful
'57 Classic exposed-coil humbuckers.
Bluegrass Collection: Epiphone's new Electric MandoBird, a four-string
solidbody mandolin inspired by the Gibson Firebird, highlights the Bluegrass
Collection. The line, reintroduced after a two-year hiatus, includes
the MM-20 and MM-30 A-style mandolins, the MM-50 F-style mandolin, the
MB-200 and MB-250 banjos and the Biscuit Resophonic guitar.
Advanced Jumbos: To accompany the Bluegrass Collection, Epiphone has
reintroduced two powerful Advanced Jumbo dreadnought guitars, the AJ-45S
(short 24 ¾" scale) and the AJ-10CE acoustic/electric.
G-1275: Epiphone's G-1275 Custom is modeled after the doubleneck
Gibson EDS-1275 that Jimmy Page made famous with Led Zeppelin, with exposed-coil
pickups on the six-string neck for hotter output and a repositioned stopbar
tailpiece that increases string length for improved playability.
PeeWee RaveRigs: Epiphone reintroduces the small travel/practice electrics
in Les Paul PeeWee and Flying VeeWee models, with Epi mini-amp and gig
bag that holds guitar and amp.
Valencia CEL: Epiphone's popular classical guitar, the Valencia, is
now available for left-handed players.
Les Paul colors: Solid color finishes return to the Les Paul line -
now available in Red, Whit and Ebony
