Van Halen To Return to The UK
The last time Van Halen played in the UK with David Lee Roth as front man was back in 1984 on the Monsters of Rock tour. Now almost 30 years later it seems like they might finally be on their way back across the Atlantic. At least according to a comment by David Lee Roth on the Opie & Anthony radio show: "We’re going to be playing Europe – probably 50, 60 shows starting at the end of this year."
Roth went on to compare a Van Halen show to fine bourbon: "Van Halen is very pure and uncut music. It’s a little like getting drunk on shots of really good Kentucky bourbon. It’s lead, bass, drums and howling at the moon. You’ll have a great night… but you probably won’t want to see us again for three years. You won’t want to see that bottle." The last time Van Halen performed in Europe was in 1998 during Gary Cherone's short tenure as lead singer. The news of a possible trek through Europe comes after bassist Wolfgang Van Halen told Billboard last week that the band have been working on new material to follow up last years release, A Different Kind of Truth.
