U2 The Joshua TreeOn November 20, U2 will mark the 20th anniversary of their fifth album Joshua Tree with a massive re-release of the album in four different formats: a digitally re-mastered album, a two-CD set in a hardback case, a limited edition two-CD/1-DVD collectible box set, and a double vinyl package. The second CD in the double disc set is said to feature b-sides and rarities, while the DVD will include footage of U2's concert on July 4, 1987 and of Outside, It's America, the U2 documentary, also filmed in '87, that captured U2's evolution from Dublin's favorite band to the world's favorite band.

Not only is Joshua Tree considered U2's best work and one of the greatest rock albums of all time, but it also became the quickest-selling album in British chart history and rested on top of the American charts for nine long weeks. With star-making hits like "Where The Streets Have No Name," "With or Without You," and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," Joshua Tree even won Album of the Year at the Grammys in '88.

The re-release of Joshua Tree will adhere to U2's habit of releasing a new album or DVD each November since 2001.
