Tool

Tool news is always good news in my book. The Maynard James Keenan-fronted powerhouse teased a new concert announcement last week with a photo a mysterious amphitheater with the date "06-24" mowed on the venue’s lawn.

Well, now the secret is out. Tool have announced the details for the mystery show, and it’s set for June 24 at the Glen Helen Amphitheater just outside of Los Angeles.

In addition to Tool, the new gig will include performances from Les Claypool’s Primus and legendary alternative rockers Melvins. How’s that for an A-list lineup? Also expect DJ sets by the Crystal Method and a “special guest” yet to be announced.

Tickets for the Glen Helen Ampitheater gig will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. PT Thursday (April 13) via LiveNation.com.

Tool’s upcoming North American summer tour will set off May 24 in Fairfax, Virginia.

In other news, Keenan is current on the road with his other band, A Perfect Circle. That group kicked off their spring North American tour last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
