The Strokes

The Strokes are returning to the stage with a performance at the Governor’s Ball in New York in June 2014, alongside OutKast, Jack White and Vampire Weekend.

The Strokes haven’t played together since late 2011 at the Planeta Terror festival in Brazil, despite releasing their fifth album Comedown Machine in 2013.

Whether it is a return to extensive live dates remains unsure. Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. thinks it is unlikely, telling the NME: '”There might be times when we’re not doing things but I don’t feel like we’ll ever stop.

“We’ve come to the point where we’ve been together so long and been through so much that why announce anything besides what we’re doing? We’re just together.”

The Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas will also play a solo set at the Governor’s Ball, 6-8 June.

Nick Valensi’s signature Ephiphone Riviera P94 is still available in stores, if you’re lucky enough to find one.
