The 25th anniversary of Stone Temple Pilots’ debut album, Core, will be commemorated with an expanded reissue of the 1992 LP. The reissue, to be released on September 29, will be available in multiple formats—including a 2-CD Deluxe Version and a Super Deluxe Edition that includes four CDs featuring the original remastered album, along with more than two hours of unreleased demos and live cuts (including the band’s 1993 MTV Unplugged performance), a vinyl copy of the original album, and a DVD featuring a 5.1 Surround Sound mix along with videos for the singles "Sex Type Thing," "Plush," "Wicked Garden" and "Creep."

The 2-CD Deluxe Version will feature a newly remastered edition of the original album expanded with hard-to-find B-sides and previously unreleased demos. A single-disc remaster of the original album will be available as well.

Last December, the surviving members of Stone Temple Pilots posted a remembrance of frontman Scott Weiland to mark the one-year anniversary of the singer’s passing. “We often think of you and are reminded of you daily with many memories," they wrote. "Then there is the music the four of us carved out allowing us to listen and feel how brilliant you are."
