Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has undergone surgery to remove a small lesion from his lung, his spokesperson revealed on Wednesday (May 24). The guitarist is expected to make a full recovery and will need no additional treatment. The procedure will not affect the Stones’ upcoming “No Filter” tour, which kicks off in Hamburg, Germany, on September 9.

"I'm so grateful for modern screening which picked this up so early, and would like to thank all the doctors who treated me," said Wood. The official statement indicated that the lesion was discovered during a routine medical exam. Doctors performed “keyhole surgery” to address the issue. Wood, who turns 70 next week, has been a member of the Rolling Stones since 1975.
