Back in London for the last three shows of their Bigger Bang tour, the Rolling Stones are making headlines—not for their extraordinary endurance but for smoking onstage. Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood violated Britain’s new smoking ban during their Tuesday, August 21 show at the O² arena. The Greenwich Council decided not to press charges or fine the venue, saying that they were “satisfied” that it was a one-off incident. A spokesperson for the arena said, “We are sure it was an oversight and are grateful for their cooperation.” This is not Richards’ first offense. Last year, he was cited for smoking onstage in Scotland.
