Who

The Who’s Roger Daltrey has announced a 12-date summer tour during which he will perform the Who’s 1969 rock opera, Tommy, accompanied by an orchestra based in the city in which the venue is located. As reported earlier, the Who singer previously announced a Tommy performance with the Boston Pops, slated for June 15. The trek now encompasses 10 cities, including two shows on separate nights in Vienna, Virginia, and in Highland Park, Illinois. A full electric backing band will be featured along with the various orchestras.

“I'm really looking forward to singing Tommy, not only with my great backing group, but also some of the finest orchestras in the country," said Daltrey. "Pete Townshend’s rock music is particularly suited to being embellished by the sounds that an orchestra can add to the band. With the arrangements written by David Campbell, it should make a memorable night of entertainment for all those who love the arts.”
