It appears all but certain that Joan Jett will join the surviving members of Nirvana for a performance at tonight’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. A photograph appeared yesterday (April 9) on Instagram showing Jett’s iconic Gibson Melody Maker positioned front and center among the band’s other equipment.

Jett and Dave Grohl have often worked together in the past, co-writing the song “Any Weather” for Jett’s 2013 album, Unvarnished, and co-presenting an award at the 2013 American Music Awards show.

Jett has also joined the Foo Fighters onstage several times over the years, often performing such classics as “Bad Reputation” and “I Love Rock and Roll.” Grohl has indicated in the past that he reserves a special reverence for Nirvana material. “It’s sacred ground,” he told last year. “If we were to ever [utilize another singer] it would have to be right, because you want to pay tribute. There’s a reason Foo Fighters doesn’t do Nirvana songs.”
