A group of lucky kids got the chance of a lifetime this past Saturday (November 9), when they joined James Hetfield on stage. The young musicians got to play to play “Enter Sandman” together with the Metallica singer and guitarist as part of the Little Kids Rock charity’s annual Rockin’ the Bay Benefit held at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, CA.

Hetfield was on hand to receive the first Livin’ the Dream award, which was presented to him in recognition of his support of Little Kids Rock over the years. The charity’s objective is to raise awareness, and help fund music programs in areas where such have been cut from the curriculum due to budget restrictions. The little wannabe rockers got to play bass, guitar, and sing backup on the classic Metallica song.
