From the first day that Slash and Duff McKagan joined Axl Rose on stage at the first Guns N’ Roses ‘reunion’ show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, the ‘Not In This Lifetime’…Tour has been dubbed the great Guns N’ Roses revival. Since then, the tour has travelled around the world, generating enough ticket sales to make it the fourth-highest grossing tour of all time.

Izzy Stradlin

While Steven Adler, the drummer from their Appetite for Destruction era, has made guest appearances at a handful of shows on the tour, there’s still one name missing from that classic Appetite lineup – Izzy Stradlin. It’s now been revealed that there was a point last year, when Stradlin almost did reunite with his band mates. Speaking to the Appetite for Distortion podcast, former Guns N’ Roses manager Alan Niven revealed that Stradlin “did get as far as flying out and doing a soundcheck, and then he left after the soundcheck, he didn't want to have anything to do with it."

Niven went on to say that, “something must have really upset him, because he left after the soundcheck, and never turned up for another one or an appearance. I would think right now he is probably a little pissed off.”

So close, yet no dice. Hopefully the band and Stradlin can come to an agreement before the end of the tour.
