A handful of David Bowie tribute concerts took place this year called Celebrating David Bowie, featuring different musicians who toured with Bowie, plus guest artists. The shows were such a success that organizers have announced a special trek, called the Celebrating David Bowie tour, featuring many of the same musicians.

The tour will kick off in January with six concerts throughout Europe. The trek's North American shows set off Feb. 10 in Silver Spring, Maryland, and go through a March 11 concert in Portland, Oregon.

The tour's house band will comprise of Bowie keyboard player Mike Garson; former King Crimson guitarist and singer Adrian Belew, who participated on Bowie's Sound & Vision Tour; and guitarist Gerry Leonard, who rocked Bowie's Heathen and A Reality tours.

Others tapped for the tour include Carmine Rojas, who once served as Bowie's touring bass player; Fishbone vocalist Angelo Moore; and Guatemalan singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno. The latter two took part in this year's Celebrating David Bowie shows.

"The shows had a cause our intent was to celebrate David with as much love and respect as we could," Garson said in a statement. "So many lovely artists from all around the globe contributed, and I loved all seven shows, as each musician and artist brought their own way of self-expression."
