Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will release Magic, their first album since 2002’s The Rising. According to the band’s manager, Jon Landau, the album will be “a high-energy rock CD.”

“It’s light on its feet, incredibly well played, and as always, has plenty to say,” Landau, a former rock critic, told Premier radio. “It’s also immensely entertaining.” The 11 Magic songs owe much of their entertainment factor to producer Brendan O’Brien, who produced the band’s The Rising and Devils & Dust. —Jaan Uhelszki
