New Wave pioneers Blondie are partnering with Garbage for a co-headlining tour this summer. Christening the 20-city trek the “Rage and Rapture Tour,” the veteran bands will kick off the series of shows in Saratoga, California, on July 5, and wrap up the tour on August 12 in Dallas, Texas. The tour begins roughly two months after the release of Blondie’s 11th studio album. Titled Pollinator, the LP was the last album to be recorded at New York’s recently closed The Magic Shop studio, the same facility where David Bowie recorded his final two albums.

Blondie promises the new record will be a high-spirited affair. “We’re very serious about fun,” said lead singer Debbie Harry, in a press release. Guitarist Chris Stein echoed that sentiment. “In these trying times, we need some fun,” he said.
