B.B. King with LucilleB.B. King will be the guest of honor—and the headlining performer—at an October 12 concert in San Diego that aims to raise money and awareness in the fight against youth homelessness.

The Concert of Hope Honoring B.B. King: The Concert to End Youth Homelessness, organized by San Diego-based Photocharity, will pay tribute to the Gibson icon’s many musical and philanthropic achievements as it raises awareness of the non-profit organization’s work to end homelessness for more than 1.3 million young people in America, including increasing numbers of 18- to 24-year-olds.

“B.B. has truly been an angel,” says Jeffrey Sitcov, Photocharity’s founder and chief executive officer. “There are no words to describe what an impact his support has made to Photocharity’s success over the years, and holding this concert in his honor is a way to show our gratitude and appreciation for all of his loving assistance through the years.”

The Concert of Hope Honoring B.B. King will also feature George Thorogood, Paul Rogers, Taj Mahal, and the Blind Boys of Alabama. It will take place at San Diego State University’s Open Air Theatre. --Sean McDevitt
