1949 – Hank Williams made his Grand Ole Opry debut which resulted in no less than six encores.
 
1967 – Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles went to number one on the UK charts. It would spend a total of twenty-seven weeks at the top.
 
1969 – Blind Faith make their live debut in London’s Hyde Park.
 
1972 – Bruce Springsteen signed a record deal with Columbia Records, and started assembling the first incarnation of the E Street Band.
 
1979 – A Def Leppard gig at Crookes Workingman’s Club in Sheffield ultimately got the band signed to Phonogram Records following a favorable review of the show.
