This week we celebrate the seventieth birthday of one of the most influential rock and blues guitarists in rock history - the great Peter Green. Sadly, this was also the week when Duane Allman passed away, just shy of his twenty-fifth birthday. 1962 - An early version of the Rolling Stones recorded their first demo, comprised of three covers by Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters and Jimmy Reed.

1963 - The Beatles visited Sweden on their first foreign tour. The Fab Four recorded a radio show, did a few live concerts, and appeared on Swedish television.

1964 - A riot broke out in the studio during Rolling Stones' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The band played "Around and Around" and "Time is on My Side."

1986 - Bon Jovi's third album Slippery When Wet went to number one on the US album chart, propelling the band to super star status seemingly over night.

1988 - U2's concert film and Joshua Tree Tour autobiography Rattle and Hum had its world premiere in the band's hometown of Dublin, Ireland.
