Songwriters Sing for Nashville
While the national media has largely moved on from covering the aftermath of the Nashville flood, artists have continued to support the relief efforts with benefit concerts and other fundraising events. On July 17, several prominent songwriters will do their part for the recovery of Music City.
Matraca Berg (Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride), Kye Fleming (Barbara Mandrell, Ronnie Milsap), Dallas Frazier (Elvis Presley, Oak Ridge Boys), Dickey Lee (George Jones, Tracy Byrd), Dennis Morgan (Faith Hill, George Strait), Roger Murrah (Alan Jackson, Alabama), Hugh Prestwood (Trisha Yearwood, Randy Travis), Mark D. Sanders (Lee Ann Womack, Faith Hill), Don Wayne (Lefty Frizell, Del Reeves), Jim Weatherly (Gladys Knight & The Pips, Ray Price) and Mike Reid (Ronnie Milsap, Bonnie Raitt) will perform their biggest hits at the brand new Woods at Fontanel amphitheater in Nashville, Tennessee.
Due to the overwhelming response, additional performances by Chuck Cannon, Rafe Van Hoy, Lari White, Billy Burnette, Danny Myrick, James Slater, Marc Beeson and James House have been added at the Gibson Tunesmith Stage at Farmhouse Restaurant, also in Nashville.
Proceeds from both shows will benefit families who are continuing to recover from the floods that devastated Nashville and surrounding areas in early May.
