Gibson is proud to announce the winning band of the Led Zeppelin Dream Gig contest in association with the user-generated video website Ziddio. Four-piece U.S. band Paper Thin Walls beat unprecedented competition to win the highly coveted opportunity to perform live at the official Led Zeppelin Tribute concert after show party on Monday 10th December. The Dream Gig challenged unsigned bands to submit an original song to Ziddio as a chance to launch their musical careers and perform at this landmark gig.

To determine the winning band of the Dream Gig contest, 10 finalists had their videos reviewed by a panel of judges made up of a team of leading music industry executives. These judges include board members of the Ahmet Ertegun Education Trust, such as Bill Curbishley (manager of Robert Plant, the Who, and Judas Priest); Sir Richard Branson (founder of the Virgin Empire); Phil Carson (the Atlantic Records executive responsible for signing AC/DC, Twisted Sister, and Yes); Taylor Hackford (the director of Ray and many other hit movies); and concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith. Judging for The Dream Gig was based on musicianship, showmanship, and commercial accessibility.

The winning band Paper Thin Walls will fly Virgin Airlines to London and receive tickets to see the most anticipated reunion concert of the decade—the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Show, headlined by Led Zeppelin on Monday 10th December at The O2. Paper Thin Walls will also receive $20,000 in music equipment consisting of a Dove, Les Paul Standard Goldtop, SG Reissue Bass, and a Slingerland Rolling Thunder drum kit, all donated by Gibson. On top of this, the band will perform at the official Led Zeppelin after show party following the concert at The O2.

The tribute concert honors Ahmet Ertegun, an incredibly influential figure in the record industry and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who passed away in 2006. The living members of Led Zeppelin—Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant—will take the stage on Monday 10th December to rock out in Ertegun’s memory. John Bonham’s son Jason will be on drums. Other artists performing at the tribute concert include Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Paul Rodgers, Paolo Nutini, and Foreigner.
