Gibson Guitar Corp (the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and gear) is seeking a self-motivated, hard working individual with a want to succeed as a PC Support Technician.
Responsibilities:• Responsible for all hardware and software purchasing companywide as well as processing invoices and POs for payment.
• Provide technical phone and hands on support
• Working with end users to diagnose and resolve PC hardware, peripheral and software problems.
Duties are as follows but not limited to:• The ability set-up computers and peripherals for end use, ensuring proper installation of peripherals, operating systems, and software applications.
• Move and relocate computers, monitors and printers. (must be able of lifting up to 40 lbs.)
• Answer end users' questions regarding computer software and hardware problems.
• Perform minor repairs of PC hardware and peripheral equipment.
• Maintain record of daily problem calls and actions taken.
• Support the network including, configuration and troubleshooting simple PC networking issues.
PC environment Support: (should include familiarity of the following Software Packages)
• Microsoft XP Professional (essential)
• Microsoft Office 2003 Professional
• Internet Explorer
• Microsoft Visio
• Acrobat Suite
• Microsoft Project
• Zone Alarm Security Suite
• Citrix
*General knowledge of PC and networking topologies with TCP/IP and data cabling is required.
* A background in a network environment consisting of 350 plus clients is helpful.
* Should be a team-oriented person with excellent written and communications skills.
Local candidates encouraged as relocation is not offered.
Bachelors Degree/certification or equivalent work experience required
