Gibson Guitar Corporation, the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments, is seeking a
Staff Attorney to be based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The staff attorney will report to Gibson’s General Counsel and will have the responsibility of coordinating global legal functions. This is a generalist position.
Highlights of Job Responsibilities:• Negotiate and draft contracts
• Provide advice and counsel to various departments within the company
• Delegate work to and manage outside legal counsel when appropriate
• Delegate work to and work with paralegals
• Work with international divisions on employment contracts and general legal needs
• Provide general legal support and direction for the company
• Basic competency in employment law, corporate governance, litigation, personal services contracts, and general business operations
Minimum Job Qualifications:• Must have Juris Doctor degree from accredited ABA school
• Licensed and in good standing in Tennessee
• 5+ years legal experience; combination of law firm and in-house experience strongly preferred
• International experience preferred
• Progressive responsibility with contract review and negotiation
• Excellent analytical skills
• “Roll up the sleeves” mentality
