Gibson Guitar Corporation, the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments, is seeking an Editor to be based out of Nashville, TN.  The visionary editor will tend to the marketing needs of a historic company by helping shape and create product copy and marketing content.

Highlights of Job Responsibilities:
•    Work closely with writers to assign content, communicate tone, and maintain a tight deadline schedule
•    Manage the fast-paced daily deadlines for product content and marketing initiatives, working closely with other corporate teams to meet directives
•    Manage a first-rate team of contributing freelance writers, specializing in guitar and other musical instruments
•    Pitch in wherever necessary, working both independently and directly with other editors, writers, and marketing staff.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
•    Candidate MUST have extensive knowledge of Gibson instruments and a strong background in publishing, marketing, or the MI industry
•    Candidate must have experience successfully managing and working with a diverse team of independent people
•    Candidate must be computer savvy in order to post and edit live content
•    Adept at creating powerful, intelligent marketing content
•    Highly organized and a strong and creative idea generator
•    Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and to work consistently and efficiently with a busy staff under tight deadlines
•    A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
•    Published clips and writing samples
•    Daily publication or online experience preferred

This is NOT an entry level position.  The right candidate must have at least 10 years of writing and editing experience with a major publication, marketing or advertising agency.

Relocation is not offered for this position.
