Tom Waits Prepares Live Set, Launches Website

Aidin Vaziri | 10.14.2009

On Nov. 24, Tom Waits will release, Glitter and Doom Live, a double-album with a twist.

The first disc will include 17 tracks recorded at various stops during his sold-out tour of the United States and Europe, from Atlanta, Georgia to Paris, France.

But it’s the second disc that has fans already camping outside their local record stores – titled Tom Tales, it features 40-minutes of Waits’ stage banter touching on topics as far-ranging as "romantic spiders to injured vultures,” according to his publicist Tresa Redburn.

To mark the occasion, Waits has finally got around to launching his first ever official website which includes a free preview of the new album along with lyrics, updates, photos, films, news and more.

According to the welcome note, visitors can also expect “strange but true tales and more imponderables on topics as far ranging as the origin of consciousness, the sexuality of Christ and the lonely journey of the male seahorse.”

A vinyl version of Glitter and Doom Live will come in a gatefold sleeve with live photos from the tour and contain the 17 live tracks along with downloading instructions for Tom Tales.

Tom Tales. Inside the LP, Anti- is providing a card w/mp3 download instructions, which will enable the buyer to download Tom Tales as well.
