Phish Reunion Imminent?

Ellen Mallernee | 06.23.2008

Trey AnastasioJamtopia.com reports that, in keeping with a flurry of recent rumors, a Phish reunion is likely just around the corner, and that U2 and Dave Matthews producer Steve Lillywhite will be behind the boards on a forthcoming Phish album. (Phish recorded with Lillywhite previously on their 1996 LP Billy Breathes.)

In May, Phish frontman Trey Anastasio told Rolling Stone, “When Phish broke up, I made some comment about how I’m not gonna go around playing ‘You Enjoy Myself’ for the rest of my life. And it’s so funny because [Jon] Fish[man] and Mike [Gordon] and Page [McConnell] have been talking to each other a lot lately and now—it’s not that I can’t believe that I said that, but it's symbolic of how much I lost my mind or how much I lost my bearings or something. Because at this point in time I would give my left nut to play that song five times in a row every day until I die."

Phish formed in Vermont in 1983 and broke up in 2004.
