Oasis Announce U.S. Tour Dates

Aidin Vaziri | 09.30.2008

OasisEven though Noel Gallagher is still recovering from his on-stage run-in with a crazed Canadian fan during the band’s Sept. 7 performance in Toronto, which left the guitarist with significant bruising in the ribs and hips, Oasis are carrying on with the U.S. leg of their world tour in support of their latest studio album, Dig Out Your Soul.

The British rockers will launch their first American tour in over three years on Dec. 3 in Oakland, Calif., with Ryan Adams and the Cardinals as the support act for all 11 dates.

Tickets for the shows go on sale Oct. 3.

Oasis was forced to cancel several concerts in the U.S. and Europe earlier this month as a result of Gallagher’s injuries. The band even briefly considered abandoning the upcoming tour.

Writing on the band’s blog about the stage invasion that left him out of commission, Gallagher said, “Someone, who can only be described as a ‘Canadian,’ was able to get on-stage, somehow managed to evade our crack security team and assaulted me mid-riff. Can’t say much more than that as the perpetrator’s gonna get the book thrown at him. Repeatedly. I feel like I’ve had a sparring session with [Manchester boxer] Ricky Hatton.” ―Aidin Vaziri
