Billboard reports that Best Buy will be the exclusive retailer for Guns N’ Roses’ long-delayed sixth studio album, Chinese Democracy.
Sources say the disc, which has been 14 years in the making with a price tag of approximately $13 million and a revolving line-up of musicians working alongside lone original member Axl Rose, is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year, most likely Nov. 25.
Of course, Guns N’ Roses fans know better than to get their hopes up by now. Chinese Democracy has appeared on Interscope Records’ release schedule, most recently in March 2007, several times in the past decade without actually materializing. But signs are good this time.
Nine purportedly finished tracks from the album were leaked online in June, with the song “Shackler’s Revenge” debuting in the video game Rock Band 2 just last month. Meanwhile, another new track “If the World” will play over the closing credits of Body of Lies, the Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio action thriller set to open Oct. 10. ―Aidin Vaziri
