News of the very weird: According to a news station in Ontario, Canada (and the cops and the townspeople they have on record in a video broadcast), Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth was pulled over for speeding more than a month ago and subsequently informed officers he was having a medical emergency after ingesting some nuts that he was allergic to. The officers say they called the rock star an ambulance and saved his life, but now Roth has come out to say the whole incident never happened.
“I was in Canada only from July 1st through the 4th for a performance at the Quebec City Summer Festival,” Roth said in a statement issued Thursday. “I had no encounters or incidents with the police. The only thing I’m allergic to is criticism.”
