Aerosmith and ZZ Top have unleashed the initial dates of their much-anticipated Summer 2009 tour. Aerosmith begins the trek by itself with a show in St. Louis on June 10, followed by another solo show in East Troy, Wis., on June 13. ZZ Top joins the parade in Aerosmith’s hometown, Boston, on June 16. The joint tour is currently scheduled to end in Detroit on Sept. 16. In between, the ageless rockers will ride into 30 additional cities, including Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, Denver, Seattle, Chicago and Cleveland.
Not all of the venues have been announced in each city. Check the Aerosmith Web site for the most up-to-date information. Tickets sales for most shows begin on April 17, although fans interested in presale tickets can check the Live Nation Web site for additional information.
More North American dates may be added, and a few international shows may also be announced at a later date, according to our previous report.

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry spoke to Rolling Stone at last week’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and said, “That’s just amazing to be able to play with [ZZ Top] because it’s going to be a kickass show.”
Perry also told RS that the new Aerosmith album has been temporarily put on hold, and that work on the band’s first album since 2001’s Just Push Play will pick up again after the tour.
