Zakk Wylde Shreds the National Anthem

Music lovers have occasionally groused about the “Star Spangled Banner,” a tune some see as an awkward melody with a range that challenges many a singer―which is exactly what’s made it an attractive electric guitar solo showcase, from Jimi Hendrix on forward. Here’s ax god Zakk Wylde paying tribute to the Stars and Stripes―and his inspiration/Ozzy guitarist forebear, Randy Rhoads―with an extended, downright shred-i-licious take on the national anthem before a Los Angeles Kings hockey game at L.A.’s Staples Center.
