The Kristofferson SJ

The master luthiers at Gibson Acoustic are proud to present “The Kristofferson” — an accurately detailed recreation of Kris Kristofferson’s beloved Southern Jumbo acoustic, and a tribute to his legendary songwriting skills and genuine love of Gibson acoustics.

Limited to just 300 guitars, The Kristofferson captures the vintage feel and classic details of his original Southern Jumbo, including the model’s very simple appointments and beautiful, yet understated look. The Kristofferson then blends these traditional qualities with several modern features, including the new Fishman Matrix Infinity undersaddle pickup system with endpin mounted preamp and soundhole mounted controls.

Kris Kristofferson's - This Old Road We are also going to throw in a copy of This Old Road on New West Records. For his first studio album of new material in 11 years, Kris Kristofferson has created an album of startling clarity and simplicity. The songs are poetic, reflective, outspoken and tender. The instrumentation is sparse, focusing on Kris's guitar, harmonica and vocals. He is accompanied on some tracks by longtime sidekick Stephen Bruton (guitar, mandolin, backing vocals), producer Don Was (bass, piano) and the legendary Jim Keltner (drums). Over a 40-year career, Kris has had his songs covered by over 450 artists and is a three-time Grammy winner. He has had 17 top 40 albums and has appeared in more than 100 films, documentaries and television programs.
