A Gibson Les Paul Studio, customised by Martin Sims, with the official Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Celebration artwork (46664 - It’s In Our Hands) was signed by many of the concerts performing artists and presenters. This unique Gibson guitar will be auctioned off on eBay to raise extra funds for Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Charity.

Amy Winehouse, Brian May, Annie Lennox, Razorlight’ Johnny Borrell, Peter Gabriel, the Sugarbabes, Stephen Fry, Andrea Corr, Forrest Whitaker, the Soweto Gospel Choir, and Leona Lewis were just a few of the stars pictured backstage at Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Celebration Concert signing the customized 46664 Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar.

The charity concert hosted by Hancock actor Will Smith was held in London’s Hyde Park on Friday, June 27 and saw many high-profile artists and celebrities such as Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Razorlight, Queen + Paul Rodgers, Simple Minds, Leona Lewis, and Razorlight perform to the capacity 46,664 crowd.

46664 (four, double six, six four) was Nelson Mandela's prison number when he was imprisoned on Robben Island, off Cape Town in South Africa. He was jailed in 1964 for 27 years for leading the liberation movement against apartheid and for his impassioned stance on the rights of everyone to live in freedom. He was prisoner number 466, imprisoned in 1964. The Robben Island prisoners were never referred to by their names, but rather by their numbers and year of imprisonment - hence 46664 was Nelson Mandela's number.

46664 is an African response to the global HIV AIDS epidemic that invites the whole world to take the fight in hand. It's aim, to raise awareness overall and educate the younger generations in particular. By gaining global backing for the cause will in turn raise funds to directly assist the many HIV AIDS projects they support. The charity intends to do this by using international ambassadors to spread the core messages of hope, calls to action, their pleas for compassion and requests for assistance and support for those living with HIV AIDS.
