Gibson Lends Hand at London's Field Day 2008

Jeremy Singer | 08.01.2008

After its debut in East London last summer, Field Day will be returning to Victoria Park on Saturday, August 9. Organizers have arranged the best of all things alternative from the realms of dance, electro, indie, and folk, to create a one-day festival experience like no other.

A number of the U.K.’s hottest bands such as Foals, Simian Mobile Disco, Mystery Jets, Les Savy Fav, Lightspeed Champion, and Noah & the Whale, along with DJs Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys), Huw Stephens, and Rob Da Bank, are just a handful of the highlights spread across the five stages. (See full line-up below.)

The Gibson Tour Bus will make its debut appearance at the 2008 Field Day. The Gibson bus is one of only five in the world and it will be parked backstage exclusively for The Field Day Festival 2008. The Gibson Guitar Bus will be available for use free of charge by the many performing Field Day bands, media partners, and press as an alternative interview and photographic space as well as hospitality.

The Gibson Guitar bus contains all the necessary requirements and luxuries for today's artists, press and specially invited guests to enjoy and feel like a rock star. The Gibson Guitar Bus is a rock and roll experience in its own right and provides a taste of the heritage and prestige that Gibson Guitar represents around the world. The Gibson Tent will also be on display in the main public area at Field Day exhibiting a variety of Gibson and Epiphone guitars.

While remaining true to its alternative roots, and retaining the sheer range of talent involved, 2008’s Field Day will be stepping up on all fronts to deliver an unrivalled festival experience in the heart of the city.
