Waukesha is proud to announce that Gibson Guitar has chosen the birth and resting place of guitar legend Les Paul for its next acclaimed GuitarTown community arts project. GuitarTown Waukesha will feature 10-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars, and a series of regular size guitars, to be artistically designed by acclaimed Wisconsin visual artists and displayed in front of the city’s landmarks and businesses. Each guitar sculpture will celebrate a musician, personality or artist unique to the region’s history, with guitar sculptures sponsored by local businesses and individuals. www.waukeshaguitartown.com



One June 17, 2010, The Sunset Strip and Gibson Guitar announced the launch of GuitarTown, a public arts project that will feature more than 25 ten-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars strategically placed on the legendary Sunset Strip in West Hollywood beginning in August, 2010. The oversized Gibson guitar sculptures will be created by local and nationally acclaimed visual artists and placed along the 1.6-mile Sunset Strip in front of the boulevard’s landmarks and businesses, including the Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy Theatre and Sunset Marquis. www.gibson.com/Sunset-Strip/



Cleveland Rocks is a community arts project that celebrates the unique artistic excellence and diversity of the city of Cleveland. Nashville’s GuitarTown Project, a public arts project that featured 10-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul or Chet Atkins model guitars was launched in April 2004. The guitar sculptures were designed by local and nationally acclaimed visual artists and displayed throughout Nashville in front of city landmarks and businesses. Many guitar sculptures were partnered with a Country Music Artist and backed by a corporate sponsor. The GuitarTown Project united the Nashville art, music and business communities and raised money for four worthy charitable organizations: Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The DISTRICT, and the United Way of Nashville.www.gibson.com/guitartownwebsite
