Music Rising is a campaign launched to aid musicians of the Gulf Region. Created by U2’s The Edge, Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz and producer Bob Ezrin, it has become of symbol of rebuilding and renewal throughout the U.S. When the campaign was first launched in November 2005 the focus was to replace lost or destroyed instruments to professional musicians so that they could regain their livelihood. To date Music Rising has helped over 2,000 of those musicians and helped restore the spirit and musical heritage so important to this country. Inaugural partners Guitar Center Music Foundation and MusiCares were strong supporters of this Phase I of the initiative.
