From De Kalb, IL
08.28.2007- CST
So here we are… De Kalb, IL. For those of you not constantly wandering around and down and zig zaggy through the US that’s just outside of Chicago. Before filling you in on tour details I just must tell you what we did the night after I last wrote…
You see, after our afternoon off we went over to Sirius and did an interview for Maxim radio. It was a whisky fueled adventure in not answering questions directly. In other words pretty hilarious. From there we went to a bar near Washington Square Park and ate some yummy bar food (no that’s not impossible!). But the fun really started when we decided to go to a Karaoke Bar. OH YEAH. My first ‘performance’ was Heaven Is A place on Earth, Luis did Sexy and 17, and Chris did… geeze I can’t remember probably Journey or Meatloaf. Not too bad. However the night wore on and the drinks went down and then I decided to do AC/DC’s Shook Me. I remember violently clearing off a table of glasses and bottles and holding a poor onlooker in a headlock when I accidentally slipped and head-butted her pretty bad. That’s when I ran out and down the block hoping the guys would find me. I think she saw stars. I saw the red in her eyes. I don’t think we’re ever going back there again. We jumped in a cab. Somehow we didn’t miss our am flight out of JFK and made it to LA by the next morning.
We left for tour again 2 days later! Yeah… been a little busy. The shows have been awesome. Got to play with the Razor Burns in San Fran and visit with the Nothington boys and in SLC we played with the Adolescents. Triple Rock is always delicious and super cool and Wisconsin… I mean what can I say… cheese curds and beer. OH AND MISSOURI! Kansas City was rad. We played with a band called The Graveyard Nightmares. They’re great, check them out! AND I got a Missouri thimble (my one tour collection) and an ipod. FINALLY! So here we are. Tomorrow we play with The Methadones at their CD release show. I’m so excited they’re having us play!
From Chicago we head to Grand Haven, MI to Chris’ family reunion. I will definitely let you know how that goes!
