Dirty Stories.

08.29.2007- CST

Whats going on world. So... its been a while since i last blogged. Thats my bad. But u know what that means??? Stories. Lots and lots of stories.

Dirty Stories. So let me first start off by saying THANK YOU to all our fans out there. With your help, our lastest single "Shake Tramp" went to #1 on the Muchmusic Video Countdown. This is our first #1 video and we have only the fans to thank for that. From all of us at the Marianas, you guys rule.

On with the dirt. We spent the summer playing big festival shows, the most exciting being The Calgary Stampede, and Capital-X in Edmonton. Both were huge outdoor shows, 10,000-15,000 people. We were obviously thrilled because these are the kind of shows where you can actually get away with wearing a cowboy hat on stage. Now i'm from vancouver. In vancouver you're only allowed to wear yoga pants. Wear a cowboy hat and you're chased into hiding. So this was clearly the greatest experience of my young life.

We were fortunate enough to have a wonderful promoter in Cold Lake Alberta take us out on his boat. Ian, our drummer, decided he will try tubing for the first time in his life. The lake is choppy. Extremely choppy. Ian sits in the tube in that way that any experienced tuber will tell you is a recipe for certain death. The boat proceeds to rocket through the rough waters lauching ian into frequent orbit, his knees bashing against his face and abdominal cavity. After about 10 minutes of epic video footage and horrific wipe outs, ian decides he's had enough. Gotta hand it to him, he's a tough bugger.

2 days pass, and blood begins to spit from every orifice on the mans body.
Several emergency room visits later, the man is diagnosed with a bruised spleen and several fractured ribs. Let this be a lesson to all, do not tube like ian. But it was sure funny to watch.

I took a trip up to Whistler BC this summer to go Zip-lining. Its where you zip across the tree tops in a harness attached to a "zip line", dangling 60m above the ground and reaching speeds of up to 60mph. That was pretty damn cool.

So Marianas Trench is just about to head out on a fall tour. We'll be touring hard across Canada from coast to coast, and we'd love to see everyone out at the shows. We'll be doing lotsa sweet Gibson Guitar giveaways, so if your interested in a new axe, you know where to come.
Can't wait to see everyone, take care of yourselves and we'll talk again soon!
