Hey world! This is Matt from Marianas Trench. We're a pop-punk band based out of Vancouver, BC. If you've seen any of our music videos lately, you'll know that we're not your average band. And therefore, this will not be your average blog. We here at Marianas Trench do not take ourselves too seriously... seriously.

We released our debut album, Fix Me, on 604 Records (www.604records.com) and Universal Music Canada, October, 3, 2006. We've been touring our asses off lately in support of our new single, “Shaketramp.” We came fresh off a 2-month tour to rock Virgin Fest in Vancouver, joining The Killers, My Chemical Romance, and Billy Talent at the two-day event. We had a wicked time!

We've been given the awesome opportunity to present at this year's MuchMusic Video Awards, June, 17, so we're currently in Toronto preparing for this. Most people would assume I mean finding flashy outfits and rehearsing our lines, but this couldn't be further from the truth. You see, last year Billy Talent arrived at the MMVA's in a tank. We're working hard to out-do them. Appearing in a tank is tough to top, but we've been brainstorming some pretty good ideas. Thoughts of borrowing a helicopter and repelling to the red carpet in Ninja outfits have come to mind. We've also looked into ostrich rental, and the possibility of renting other wild game to ride gloriously into the event. Whatever we decide to do, its gonna be memorable... so look out!
