Dirty Fingers

Gibson's Gear division offers the extreme-output Dirty Fingers™ bridge pickups as replacement units that will max out the attitude factor on any electric guitar. Once described in Gibson Guitar literature as "The critical union between power and dirt," the Dirty FingersT has returned after a 20-year silence on the Tom DeLonge Signature model.

DeLonge, frontman for alt-punk group blink-182, was given some sample pickups to spec for his signature model and he chose the Dirty Fingers. "The Dirty Fingers was so loud and so obnoxious. but you try it now and it's crazy," says DeLonge. "It's awesome. It sounds so good. It has so much more clarity and volume and a much wider sound... I instantly fell in love with it." Because of its aggressive tone Dirty Fingers™ pickups will also appeal to those who play tuned down nu-metal.

The Dirty Fingers™ pickup comes with a four-conductor lead and is wax potted to eliminate unwanted microphonic feedback. And as with all Gibson replacement pickups, it's backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

PRODUCT REVIEW

“I dropped the Dirty Fingers into both positions on a heavy 1981 Les Paul Custom and ran it through a 1969 Marshall Reissue “Plexi” half stack.  The pickup was immensely loud and vicious.  Its high gain provided me with tons of power and sustain, but the pickup remained quiet and very clear on single notes.  Chords sizzled with extreme energy, and the overtones were spectacular.   In fact, I’ve never heard a pickup that complimented EL34-style distortion better than this.  If you’re looking for a new voice for your guitar that combines equal extremes of muscle and musicality, the IMDF-DB Dirty Fingers may have the balance of power your’re looking for.”
