As I was feeling much more confident about my setup, before our rehearsal I thought I’d see whether IK Multimedia’s Ampeg SVX bass amp plug-in would do a better job than AmpliTube 2 – after all, it was designed for bass. I must say, it sounded great; it does have an octave divider, and the amp sound really did sound like a bass amp. But to use it to full advantage, I needed to use more sections of the plug-in, and I became concerned again about CPU consumption. So I decided to stick with AmpliTube 2.
At this point, the system was starting to settle down. Brian was getting his drum chops back after concentrating on bass the past few years, and I was getting my rock guitar chops back after being involved in electronic bands over in Europe for almost the past decade.
