Gibson J-45 Vine

Few guitars in the world offer the combined decorated beauty and flawless tone of the Custom J-45 Vine from Gibson Acoustic in Bozeman, Montana. Modeled after the “workhorse” of Gibson’s iconic round-shoulder dreadnought line, the Custom J-45 Vine offers all the traditional features of Gibson’s most popular acoustic, long noted for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection. The Custom J-45 Vine’s appointments begin with the incredibly fine detail of the hand-crafted mother of pearl “Tree of Life” vine inlays on the rosewood fingerboard, and continue with the abalone purfling and herringbone multi-ply binding around the body, and custom, double-line abalone rosette around the soundhole. The body of the Custom J-45 Vine is made of solid AA-grade premium Sitka spruce for the top, accented by solid AAA-grade Honduran mahogany for the back and sides. The neck is a solid piece of Honduran mahogany with Gibson’s traditional V profile, and new Big Sky radius fingerboard edge for improved playability. It is connected to the body via a hand-fit, tapered dovetail joint that boosts the sound vibration transfer from the neck to the body. A strengthened “X” bracing pattern behind the soundhole, combined with a set of tall and thin braces for the back, and—most importantly—scalloped tall and thin braces for the top, makes the Custom J-45 Vine one of the most technically advanced guitars of its time. Other features include nickel Waverly tuners, Gibson’s traditional Belly Up rosewood bridge with two mother of pearl dot inlays on either side of the Tusq saddle, and the J-45’s traditional tortoise shell tear drop pickguard. The Gibson Acoustic Custom J-45 Vine comes with a premium hardshell case, and is available in Antique Natural and Vintage Sunburst finishes.
