I've played in many bands down here in South Texas in the past 20 years, and enjoy playing anything rock. The BFG is at the top of my wish list. I've owned the higher end guitars, my Standards and Customs, and I really, really enjoy the simple beauty of the BFG.
“This guitar is the bad boy of all Lesters. A scraggly beater, it doesn't apologize for what it is. This guitar lives for one thing, and one thing only—to be an absolute function-before-fashion, take no prisoners tone monster. The BFG is no museum quality showpiece, and the beauty is that it doesn't try to be one. It’ll wear its scars proudly, and the more weathered it gets, the better it will play.
I'm glad that Gibson has offered us the option of owning a stripped-down, basic Paul. I realize that the BFG isn't for everybody, but neither are the $4K Custom Shop Lesters coming out. If you're a scarred up, tattooed guitar player, living one day at a time with a F.T.W. attitude, this is the guitar for you! Thanks, Gibson, for giving us the option.”
