Les Paul BFG Player

I’m an average player. I’ve been playing since the mid-80s. I am not in a band, but the public should thank me for that!

“If finish is the only thing important to you, then there are plenty of different Les Pauls that will suit you. If versatility, playability, tone, and value are important, then you will love the BFG.

You get the tonal versatility of having both a P90 and humbucker, not to mention the kill switch, which no other LP has (and don't tell me you would drill a hole in your $2400 standard to install one). Then, on top of that, the chambered body is awesome—which to my knowledge is available on very expensive models like the Supreme, and makes the guitar not only sing, but also puts the weight at way less then 8 pounds (mine is 6.7-ish depending on the scale). The neck on this thing is sweet as well, as nice as my LP Standard and Custom Shop SG. All that, and I don't care how thrashed it gets. It ain't for everyone, but don't knock one unless you have played it. Since I got mine, it gets more play time then my LP or SG combined.

I have several great looking guitars. They were all really expensive, and they sound as good as they look. This thing sounds and plays as good, and was less than half the price of any of them. I love taking this thing out to play. People get a funny look when they see it, and I love that. It reminds me of that beat to hell Standard that Kossoff played in the "All Right Now" video. Mean and ugly, and just snarlin’.

If it isn't your thing, that's cool too. Like I said before, there are a ton of great looking and playing Lesters out there for you. This one is a hit with me and the more I play it, the more I love it.”
