Gibson Guitar will be rockin’ the lodge again with their celebrity “jam sessions” which proved to be one of the most exciting places to be during Sundance 2005. Last year’s participants included: Lord of the Rings cast-mates Elijah Wood & Billy Boyd who hosted evening jams every night and brought down the house with their twisted lyrics to popular songs. Glenn Close also stopped by to tell the story of her first guitar which was a Gibson and she hadn’t played in years. Picking up a Gibson at the jam session brought back numerous memories to the 5 time Oscar nominated actress. The OC’s Benjamin McKenzie, Wallflowers Rami Jaffe, actor Jeff Daniels, and Mario Van Peebles also were seen hanging out at the Gibson Jam Session area while “Celebrities are invited to strum a few tunes with friends in our hospitality lodge or just visit us for good music and good times. Everyone had a blast last year, we can’t wait to see who will jam with us this year” said event producer, Kathy Carpenter. This year celebrity guests have the opportunity to aid Music Rising, a campaign to put instruments back into the hands of musicians who lost everything in the hurricane disasters of the Gulf Region. The campaign, headed by U2’s The Edge will continue to aid musicians and is facilitated by MusiCares. For information on Music Rising go to www.musicrising.org. Each celebrity at the Gibson Guitar Mountain Lodge will be asked to autograph a Gibson guitar that will be auctioned later with proceeds going directly to “Music Rising.” Lead partners Gibson Guitar and Guitar Center Music Foundation have spearheaded the initial effort by collaborating with The Edge and producer Bob Ezrin. Getty Images, the leading provider of imagery and film to communications professionals, will also be headquartered at the Miners Club during the festival. Getty's team will return to photograph portraits of The lodge will be beautifully decorated with rustic furnishings from the Timber Lodge Collection, Bacardi brands & Virgin Vines wine will be on hand to keep the spirits flowing, Fiji Water will keep everyone hydrated and Red Bull, Luna & Clif bars will provide that needed boost of energy each day.
