Industry Professionals to Offer Candid Career Close-Ups at this GRAMMY Foundation® Program
Presented by the San Francisco Chapter of The Recording Academy®
WHAT: Top music industry professionals discuss the realities of the music business and available careers in music with more than 800 Bay Area high school students at the GRAMMY in the Schools ® – GRAMMY Career DaySM program. Panel discussions will be followed by a variety of workshops addressing various fields in the music industry. Schools from all over the Bay Area will be represented: Antioch, Brisbane, Concord, Felton, Hayward, Larkspur, Livermore, Novato, Oakland, Palo Alto, Redwood City, Richmond, San Francisco, San Mateo, San Rafael, San Ramon, Willits, and Woodside. The program is presented by Gibson Baldwin Music Education and is completely free of charge.
WHO: Artist participants include members of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, Director of Oakland Symphony Michael Morgan, American Idol finalist Latoya London, Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, award-winning gospel choir director Terrance Kelly, GRAMMY-winning engineer Leslie Ann Jones, Oakland rapper Balance, DJ and Vinroc, DJ Pone; filmmaker Kevin Epps and KFOG’S Irish Greg McQuaid, among other industry professionals.
