Don't miss the amazing cover story with Jimmy Page in the February 2006 issue of Guitar World magazine. Brad Tolinski, Guitar World's editor in chief, sat down with Jimmy Page and the White Stripes' Jack White to "talk smack about the devil and explain why the blues is good for your soul." In the rolling, free-spirited interview, Jimmy discusses passing on the legacy of the blues and how his creativity is inspired by his new Gibson Custom Shop ES-350. You can also catch a glimpse of Gibson's new limited edition Jimmy Page EDS-1275 double neck. Here are a few quotes from the feature… but you'll have to grab the magazine for the entire interview!

GW: How do you regard the tools of your trade? Both of you are known for playing a few select instruments and really sticking with them.

PAGE: In the beginning of Zeppelin I had this very small guitar arsenal: a Harmony acoustic, a Telecaster. Then, one day, I went to Eric Clapton's house, and every room had all these guitars in them. His whole house was like a guitar shrine. I was like "Crikey!" Eric explained to me, "They're all tax deductible!" So that's when I started buying more guitars (laughs).

WHITE: The way I look at it, once you've made friends with a guitar, there's no reason to break up the friendship!

PAGE: Yes, exactly. I always seem to come back to the '59 Les Paul that I bought from Joe Walsh in the Sixties. I can play other guitars but that's the one I feel most comfortable with.

GW: Jimmy, I hear you are working on a solo album.

PAGE: Am I? [laughs] It's been a while since I've played methodically, and I wanted to get back into it. I'm working with a couple of musicians and we've been writing. I've been actually writing a lot lately....

GW: Why the sudden burst of creativity?

PAGE: Some of it is due to my new guitar. I recently bought a new Gibson 350 from the Gibson Custom Shop, and I've found it very inspirational. Sometimes you get a new guitar that doesn't fight you, and suddenly all sorts of things start coming out of it.
