NASHVILLE - The iconic American company that brought the world the famous “Les Paul” electric guitar in 1952 is showcasing several other exciting innovations at CES 2006.  As part of the company’s aggressive commitment to digital technology, Gibson will present and demo several of their latest offerings including the Gibson Digital Guitar, Wurlitzer Digital Jukebox, Gibson Home Theatre System and the “Guitar Hero” video game.

As part of the CES excitement, Gibson is presenting live performances throughout the week in their private 7,000 square foot showcase space, including a special appearance by legendary Elvis guitarist, Scotty Moore as part of an Elvis Presley birthday celebration on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m.  Elvis, who was a devoted Gibson player, would have turned 71 on Jan. 8, 2006. Additionally, Gibson Guitar will present two nights of a headlining performance by rock-blues guitarist, George Thorogood, beginning Friday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. and again on Sat., Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. when he will be joined on stage by Moore. Daily entertainment also includes The Kevin Maney band, Jaggedy Ann and rising Sony country music artist Jace Everett.

 

Gibson’s location for CES 2006 is Central Plaza 1, outside the main entrance of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
