The Gibson bus rolled in to rock the Festival Village of the CMJ Rock Hall Music Fest in Cleveland, Ohio (June 9-11). The event kicked off with a performance by The Pixies (June 8), while the Gibson Stage featured full line-ups every day including Like Yesterday, The Holy Fire, Plasma, smallspace and Swim, among many others.

Gibson was on-site with an interactive pod station, allowing CMJ Music Fest visitors to get their hands on the latest and greatest Gibson guitars and technology.

Other venues which participated in the CMJ Rock Hall Music Fest included House of Blues, Odeon and Scene Pavillion and hosted acts such as Orgy, the BellRays, Spoon, Powerman 5000 and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The festival also featured guest speakers Grandmaster Flash, Seymour Stein of Sire Records and Richard Hell.

Guitar Player magazine was on-hand to launch its first annual Guitar Heroes competition. Ten finalists performed for a panel of judges including Joe Satriani, Steve Lukather and Trevor Lukather (who is currently touring with Lindsay Lohan). Dominic Frasca was named the 2005 Guitar Player Guitar Hero and took home a brand new Gibson Les Paul, as well as a spot on CMJ’s new music sampler.
