The very best from all music genres came together at Carnegie Hall (June 19) to celebrate the life and career of Gibson guitar legend Les Paul. A tribute Gibson guitar was presented to Les Paul, by Gibson Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz.

The tribute concert was held ten days after Les’s 90th birthday when he received the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award at the 36th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame dinner and induction (June 9).
The concert featured artists Tommy Emmanuel, José Feliciano, Peter Frampton, Steve Lukather, Pat Martino, Steve Miller, Bucky Pizzarelli, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Derek Trucks, Eumir Deodato, Neal Schon, Edgar Winter, and vocalist Madeleine Peyroux with Will Lee & Omar Hakim. Les Paul also performed with long time musical friends John Coliani, Lou Pallo, & Nicky Parrott.

Edgar Winter saluted Les Paul from the stage
after his tribute performance on a Baldwin piano.
Les Paul, who still rocks weekly at the Iridium (NYC), is currently in the studio, recording a collaborative album with some of the industry’s greatest musical stars. The album is set for release this summer.

Neal Schon (L) and Edgar Winter (R) joined Les
for an onstage jam.
