Famous French Soprano Singer, Mauvois Muray Marjorie performed before a Baldwin grand piano at the opening ceremony of the “Tour Eiffel” photo exhibition at the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Radio Tower in Shanghai, China (April 23). The Prime Minister of France attended the show, and cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony. As a sponsor of the event, Baldwin donated a grand piano for the ceremony performance.
 
Pop rocker and Baldwin man Ben Folds performed a radio show for WFUV in the Gibson/Baldwin Showroom in New York City (April 24). The show, which was hosted by Dennis Elsas of “City Folk Afternoon,” aired on Tuesday (April 26).

Bryce Avery, The Rocket Summer, has a heavy touring schedule during the first week of May. Bryce’s shows will take him through Portland, Spokane, Boise, Salt Lake City, Denver and Wichita (May 1-7). The tour is in continued promotion of his album Calendar Days, in which Bryce not only wrote and produced every track, but also played every instrument, including his Baldwin piano.
 
Baldwin man Craig Urquhart is performing for the Whisperings: Piano Showcase in York, PA (May 13). Craig will be joining fellow pianists Gregory Maroney, David Nevue, Catherine Marie Charlton and Jace Vek for the evening, all of whom will be performing throughout the event.
Inspirational artist and Baldwin pianist Nate Sallie received a 2005 GMA nomination for “Rock Song of the Year.” This marks the second time that Nate has been nominated in this category by the GMA. Nate’s sophomore effort is currently underway, a follow up to his debut album, Inside Out.
